Last week we had fun. This week we’re shifting the mood. Knowing that our weekly reveal would fall on MLK Day, we thought it appropriate to choose a word befitting the man: LUMINARY. 

Anchored by a visually arresting image of peace, we developed the concept of the MLK Lecture Series held on Sundays (a nod to the Reverend) in February (Black History Month) at the fictitious Lorraine Hall (IYKYK). Because we still have so much to learn… and so much work to do.

ABOUT “A WORD, PLEASE”

In celebration of our 25th year, we developed our own kind of word game. Throughout 2023 we will take submissions of favorite words and see what they inspire. Comment below with your favorite(s) — no context or explanation — and we will pick a word to explore. No limits, no boundaries.
